FSC® Certification:
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) is an international non-profit, multi-stakeholder organization established in 1993 to promote responsible management of the world’s forests.
GFA Certification GmbH
Advanced Certification Services (ACS) has officially partnered with GFA Certification GmbH (GFA) to provide FSC Chain-of-Custody certification in the U.S.. GFA is a reputable long-standing FSC-accredited and independent third-party certifier serving more than 3,000 certificate holders and known for fast and reliable services. While certification contracts are entered directly with, and certificates are issued by GFA, the certification process is managed and supported by ACS on behalf of GFA.
ACS offers a complete service, starting from the initial review of customer applications, to serving as contact body for questions and conducting evaluations of FSC wood/fibre streams as required by FSC. This process leads to FSC certification of companies in association with GFA once they have successfully passed evaluation. Certification management by ACS includes follow-up auditing service throughout the regular five-year term of certification.
Forest Stewardship Council®
To assure the credibility of FSC claims, FSC material must be tracked downstream as they leave the forest and become final products. FSC requires companies that intend to sell forest products as FSC certified to undergo FSC certification. Those companies include primary and secondary manufacturers, distributors, wholesalers, brokers/retailers (if they want to pass on the claim on the invoice, label or further transform), printers and paper merchants.
SFI/PEFC™ Certification:
The Sustainable Forestry Initiative® Inc. (SFI) is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting sustainable forest management.
SFI
The SFI 2015-2019 Chain-of-Custody Standard is an accounting system that tracks forest fiber content through production and manufacturing to the end product. Companies can use chain-of-custody certification to track and communicate how much of their product comes from certified lands, fiber sourcing, recycled content or non-certified forest content.
PEFC™
The Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) is an international, non-profit, non-governmental organization which promotes sustainable forest management through independent third party certification. Chain of Custody (COC) is a process for tracking forest products from their place of origin through all stages of transfer and production to the final consumer as an end product. The PEFC standard provides an assurance that any uncertified wood is not from controversial sources.
RSPO Certification:
The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) was established in 2004 with the objective of promoting the growth and use of sustainable oil palm products through credible global standards and engagement of stakeholders.

ACS has officially partnered with GFA Certification GmbH to provide RSPO Supply Chain Certification services in North America. Worldwide, GFA offers certification services in the fields of FSC, PEFC, RSPO, SURE, Blue Angel and Gold Standard®. With over 3,000 issued certificates, GFA is among the leading certification bodies and offers a high level of expertise and service. GFA’s large network of regional auditors enables flexible and low-cost travel planning. GFA’s mission is to provide cost-efficient, fast and bureaucracy-free certification services. ACS offers a complete service, starting from the initial review of customer applications, to serving as contact body for questions and conducting evaluations for RSPO Supply Chain Certifications (SCC). This process leads to RSPO certification of companies in association with GFA once they have successfully passed their evaluation. RSPO
The RSPO has developed a set of environmental and social criteria which companies must comply with in order to produce Certified Sustainable Palm Oil (CSPO) products. When they are properly applied, these criteria can help to minimize the negative impact of palm oil cultivation on the environment and communities in palm oil-producing regions. The RSPO has more than 3,000 members worldwide who represent all links along the palm oil supply chain. They have committed to produce, source and/or use sustainable palm oil certified by the RSPO.
